e-CTS (enhanced Clinical Trial System) is Lilly's validated, real-time system used to randomize patients, manage inventory, assign investigational product (IP), track enrollment, and collect study-specific data. The system is important to Lilly as a component of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

e-CTS is available to Lilly medical sponsor personnel (employees, contractors, and Third Party Organizations (TPO)) to manage and monitor Lilly studies. The terms Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and Interactive Web Response System (IWRS) are synonymous with e-CTS but are actually the front-end interfaces site personnel use to interface with e-CTS.
